Discipleship

Grow in Faith.
Live in Community.

At Denver Baptist, discipleship is more than a program—it’s a way of life. We believe that following Jesus means continually growing in His Word and living it out in everyday relationships. Through intentional resources, small groups, and personal connections, we’re committed to helping you know Christ more deeply and walk faithfully with Him. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or seeking to grow further, there’s a place for you here.

Kids

Partnering with Parents

to Raise Lifelong Disciples

DBC Kids exists to help children know, love, and follow Jesus in a safe and engaging environment. From Sunday mornings to special events, our goal is to come alongside parents in the discipleship journey—planting seeds of faith, building gospel-centered foundations, and pointing kids to Christ at every stage. We’re passionate about making the Bible come alive in age-appropriate ways so kids can grow in their understanding of who God is and how much He loves them.

Students

Equipping Students to Own
Their Faith and Live It Out

DBC Students exists to help middle and high school students become disciples who make disciples. Through weekly gatherings, small groups, retreats, and mission opportunities, we challenge students to grow in their relationship with Christ, build authentic community, and live on mission in their schools, homes, and everyday lives. Our heart is to create a space where students can ask honest questions, encounter Jesus, and be equipped to follow Him with boldness and purpose.

Global Missions

At Denver Baptist Church, we take seriously the command of Jesus to make disciples of all nations. Global missions is not just a program—it’s a gospel-driven priority. We are committed to participating in God’s work around the world by faithfully proclaiming the gospel, strengthening and planting local churches, and stewarding our resources for the advancement of His kingdom.

1. The Centrality of The Cross

On the cross Jesus Christ offered Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice, bearing the full weight of God's just wrath against sin. Through His death, all who trust in Him by faith are justified and adopted as sons and daughters of God. The cross is the climactic moment in history, and the full revelation of God’s holiness, justice, love, and grace. It is therefore the foundation of our ministry and message. The cross not only secures our salvation, it compels us to walk in the self-sacrificing love that Christ exemplified in His suffering. 1 Corinthians 2:2, “for I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

Our Mission Priorities
  • Gospel Proclamation: True missions must include a clear and spoken gospel message. While acts of mercy and service are valuable, the heart of missions is the call to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The Local Church: The church is God’s chosen means of fulfilling the Great Commission. We send missionaries from the church to work with and plant churches wherever God calls them.
  • Church Planting: The goal of missions is not simply decisions but disciples—gathered into healthy, gospel-preaching churches that multiply.
  • Unreached Peoples: We give special attention to people and places where the gospel witness is limited or nonexistent.
Our Mission Participation
  • Long-term Missionaries: Long-term missionaries need good partners to send and support them. We are committed to being that partner, especially to those who are giving their lives to proclaim the gospel where Jesus is not worshipped. • Short-term Missionaries: One way we serve long-term missionaries and foreign gospel work is through short-term mission trips. Short-term trips should never be Christian tourism. Therefore, every trip DBC takes is driven by our foreign partners and aimed at serving a need that the partner cannot meet themselves or with local support. Interested in a short-term trip, email…
Our Commitment to Church Planting

Whether across the world or in our own region, we believe the local church is central to God’s mission. Church planting is not a side effort—it is a core strategy for gospel expansion. We work to support and send church planters who are committed to establishing healthy, gospel-preaching churches that multiply.

Local Outreach

At Denver Baptist Church, we believe the gospel compels us not only to go to the nations, but also to go to our neighbors and community. While global missions focuses on far, foreign places and cultures, local outreach focuses on the mission field right outside our doors—where we already live, work, and worship. Both share the same goal: to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ through bold gospel proclamation and sacrificial acts of service. Local outreach is not primarily about events, but faithful gospel presence, faithful witness, and intentional engagement with the people God has placed around us.

Our Outreach Priorities
  • Gospel Proclamation: What our neighbors need most is the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to love the whole person, which often includes acts of service, but prioritize introducing them to our Savior.
  • Relational Engagement: Every member at Denver Baptist is a part of our local outreach in their neighborhoods, schools, workplaces and community. While events and programs have their place in outreach, we prioritize meaningful relationships with people.
  • Community Partnerships: We partner with local ministries and organizations that are meeting real needs in our area, from crisis pregnancy centers to addiction recovery.
ESL (English as a Second Language)

ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered for free by DBC to the community. Students are assessed and placed into classes according to their English proficiency levels. Our trained teachers use visual aids, interactive activities, and group work to make learning more engaging.

Incorporating prayers, Bible readings, and devotionals is an integral part of the curriculum, making these elements a natural aspect of the learning process. Classes are held during the school year on Thursdays at 9 AM and 6 PM. During the summer, we organize casual gatherings for conversations and picnics. For more details, please call the church office.
